AIMS
“Essentials in Laparoscopic Gynecologic Surgery” is a two-day intensive practical course developed to give participants an opportunity to learn and practice the basics of laparoscopic surgical procedures and to challenge themselves during the GESEA Certification Session – Bachelor in Endoscopy, at the end of the second day.
Hands-on training, using the pelvic trainer to simulate different possible scenarios involving pelvic-endoscopic procedures, will be the core of this course along with theoretical lessons given by expert tutors.
Participants will be trained on different techniques to access the abdominal wall, on different surgical procedures (salpingectomy, salpingo-oophorectomy, hysterectomy) and on different suturing techniques, under the constant supervision of expert and certified tutors.
THE GESEA DIPLOMA
The European Academy of Gynaecological Surgery in collaboration with the European Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE) has elaborated a diploma programme opened to those who have a surgical background. The GESEA (Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgical Education and Assessment) programme is based on the most innovative evidence-based medicine.
Completing the GESEA Programme allows you to acquire your Diploma of Minimal Invasive Gynaecological Surgeon (MIGS). The first step is to acquire your GESEA Bachelor Certificate proving your general endoscopic knowledge and acquirement of basic endoscopic psychomotor skills. The second step is to successfully complete the GESEA MIGS exam and be awarded the GESEA MIGS Certificate. This certificate indicated that you have mastered the knowledge and more advanced psychomotor skills as needed to start performing basic endoscopic procedures. Finally, when you have the necessary surgical experience and related competence, you may apply for the GESEA MIGS Diploma as issued by the ESGE.
